Simple Update suggestion.
Hi, i'm not sure where to put this thread.
I thought of an idea i'm sure many of you may have thought of before. I was trawling through my storage clearing it of junk and realised how many inscriptions/mods/runes i had. I knew i should keep them incase i might need them some day but thought, Why cant mods/runes stack?
If they are exactly identical they should be able to stack, it would help manage storage space without having to get more slots. I know this isnt the only thing that takes up storage space but i'm sure it would help.
Only mods identical and identified could stack.
For example -5/20% would not stack with -5/19%.
Also, if you needed for some reason to spread the stacks you could do the old click+shift and drag to seperate into multiple stacks.
Just an idea.
Thoughts and opinions please x

Armor upgrades have a trader.
The ones you can't store, you sell.
Weapon upgrades doesn't have a trader.
They should.

The difinitive storage thread I believe has suggestions about stackable runes. I think it's in desperate need of happening, so hopefully it will be implemented

not gonna happen.... ever. think about it, people would completely exploit the system, you would easily be able to upkeep any enchantment for an indefinite amount of time.

there's something in the code that makes this very difficult, if not impossible, to implement
Each item is not identical even if they have the same stats
The reason for this is because each item could potentially have different stats (i.e -5/20% and -5/19%)
This isn't "simple" and would take too much time to implement
But if there was a way to do this with little effort /signed

Trader > stacking.
Also, use search and learn to read stickies before posting.

Yup. If every mods of different innate properties (e.g. +3 / 4/ 5 energy )despite having the same name (e.g. I Have The Power!) are considered as a unique collective object then they should have no problem stacking in inventory. However it is quite taxing on resources to register on everyone of them and probably require a huge revamp.

Umm... nobody said anything about being able to apply multiple 20% enchanting mods on a single weapon. They want to put multiples of the same inscription/mod in one storage slot instead of several. Only one mod from the stack would apply to a weapon.
It's been suggested many times and people continue to label ideas like this as "simple", but a magic wand isn't used to modify code in reality.

I don't see Anet implementing this, since they just added 5 new storage slots to the game. It would be nice though...

As mentioned, this has been suggested before and should be documented in the stickies. Thank you.
